Specifications

6. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is this shade sail completely waterproof?

Yes. Unlike standard knitted shade cloth, which is permeable, this shade sail is manufactured from a tightly woven polyester fabric treated with a PU (polyurethane) waterproof coating designed to shed rain. To prevent water pooling on top, ensure you install the sail with a slight downward pitch or angle.

What does the 2-piece splice mean in the specifications?

Because of the generous 4x5m dimensions, the sail is constructed using a professionally stitched 2-piece fabric splice to achieve its full structural width. This seam is reinforced with heavy-duty stitching to maintain full tensile strength and weather resistance.

How do I install and tension this rectangular shade sail?

Attach marine-grade ropes, chain, or heavy-duty turnbuckles from the 5mm stainless steel corner buckles to secure anchor points such as timber posts, wall brackets, or fascia poles. Maintain high tension across all four corners to prevent fabric flapping and sagging in the wind.

Will the fabric fade under intense Australian UV exposure?

The fabric is specially enhanced with an Americhem UV-resistant additive sourced from the USA, which significantly prolongs its UV protection effectiveness and slows down color fading under harsh sun conditions.
