Commercial-Grade 195gsm High-Blockout Green Mesh for Fence Privacy, Windbreaks & Pergolas

Create instant privacy, dust suppression, and high-density sun protection across your outdoor living areas with the 90% Green Heavy Duty Shade Cloth Roll (1.83m x 20m / 195gsm). Delivering 36.6 square metres of 90% blockout coverage, this commercial-grade roll is custom-engineered for Australian homeowners, outdoor spaces, and agricultural boundaries needing maximum wind and visual screening. Spanning a versatile 1.83-metre roll width, the high-density green mesh attaches neatly to chain-link fencing, boundary line wire, pergolas, and outdoor living structures. Made from heavy 195g/m² UV-stabilized high-density polyethylene (HDPE) mono-tape knitted lock-stitch fabric, it resists tearing and unraveling while filtering harsh glare, reducing wind speed, and maintaining essential airflow across backyard setups. This product may arrive in Instahut-branded packaging.

Key Features & Benefits

  • High 90% Shade & Privacy Blockout: Provides dense visual screening for boundary fences, patio perimeters, and outdoor living areas requiring shade and privacy.

  • Heavy 195gsm Commercial Weight: Built with a dense 195g/m² fabric mass to withstand high-tension boundary screening, strong wind gusts, and intense summer sun.

  • Mono-Tape Knitted Lock-Stitch Weave: Knitted from high-tensile HDPE mono-tape strands engineered to resist tearing, fraying, and unraveling when cut into custom fence panels.

  • Standard 1.83m Roll Width x 20m Length: Proportioned to match standard fence heights, pergola tops, and outdoor screening structures without bulky cutting or awkward overlaps.

  • Wind & Dust Suppression: Dampens heavy coastal and inland winds while creating a barrier against airborne dust and debris around backyards and building sites.

  • Natural Landscape Green Hue: Blends seamlessly into garden hedges, timber fence posts, and outdoor living landscapes.

Ideal Applications

  • Fence Privacy Screens: Fasten along timber, chain-link, or Colorbond boundary fencing to block unwanted line-of-sight into backyards and pool surrounds.

  • Windbreaks & Dust Barriers: Secure to boundary lines, building frames, or farm structures to reduce wind force and suppress airborne dust.

  • Patios, Pergolas & Gazebos: Mount overhead on open timber or steel pergolas to cut overhead glare and create cool shaded outdoor living zones.

  • Carports & Work Enclosures: Drape over carport framing or open work bays to shield vehicles, equipment, and trailers from intense summer UV.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the edges unravel when I cut this 90% green shade cloth to fit my fence? +

No. The fabric is constructed using a specialized mono-tape lock-stitch weave that locks the HDPE strands securely together. You can cut the 1.83m roll to custom lengths using sharp utility shears without the edges unraveling or fraying.

Can I use 90% green shade cloth over my vegetable garden beds? +

No, 90% density is too dense for vegetable patches as it blocks up to 90% of sunlight, which can starve growing plants of necessary light for photosynthesis. For vegetable gardens and fruiting crops, we recommend using 30% or 50% density shade cloth instead.

How do I secure this 195gsm green roll to a fence or timber frame? +

You can easily attach the roll using heavy-duty UV-resistant zip ties pushed through the knitted weave along wire fencing, or fasten it with timber battens and screws along wooden fence posts and pergola beams.

Does airflow still pass through this 90% blockout mesh? +

Yes. Although it delivers high visual blockout, the mono-tape knitted structure remains porous, allowing air to filter through. This prevents wind pressure build-up along your fence line compared to solid plastic sheeting.
