6. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I use this 90% beige shade cloth over my vegetable garden or greenhouse?

No. A 90% density shade cloth blocks almost all direct sunlight, which will starve vegetable crops, fruit trees, and edible plants of the light required for photosynthesis. For vegetable beds and growing areas, choose a 30% or 50% density shade cloth roll.

Will the edges fray when I cut this 30m beige roll to fit my fence?

No. The fabric utilizes a specialized mono-tape lock-stitch weave that locks the HDPE fibers securely together. You can cleanly trim the 30m roll into custom lengths using sharp utility shears without the edges unraveling or unspooling.

How do I secure this 195gsm shade cloth to a timber or wire fence?

To attach it to wire or chain-link fencing, thread heavy-duty UV-resistant zip ties or butterfly shade cloth clips through the knitted mesh every 30cm to 50cm along the edges. For timber fences, fix the material securely using timber battens or wide staples screwed directly into the posts.

Does rainwater pass through this heavy-duty 90% shade mesh?

Yes. While woven tightly for maximum privacy and shade, the knitted mono-tape construction features micro-perforations that allow air and water to permeate through under pressure, preventing water pooling on overhead applications.
