Expansive Overhead Cooling for Pool Decks & Large Backyards

Create a massive, sun-safe haven over your outdoor entertaining area during hot summer heatwaves. Tailored for extra-large Australian backyards and wide entertaining spaces, this expansive 6x7m sand canopy provides substantial overhead shade across swimming pools, paving, and outdoor lounges without trapping hot air.

Crafted from porous 280g/m² commercial-grade 100% polyethylene fabric, the open-mesh structure blocks up to 98% of harmful ultraviolet rays while allowing rising hot air to vent upwards freely. The breathable design allows continuous cross-breezes to circulate underneath, maintaining a comfortably cool atmosphere for family poolside relaxing or weekend barbecues.

Engineered to handle tension across a wide 42m² span, the borders feature 38mm webbed perimeter edging to prevent sagging and support straight lines. Each corner is fitted with an 8mm marine-grade stainless steel buckle for secure attachment to mounting posts, house fascias, or timber structures. The fabric is also treated with an Americhem UV-resistant additive imported from the USA to preserve material strength and UV performance over time.

Please note: This 6x7m shade sail features a 2-piece spliced panel construction. Assembly and mounting hardware setup are required.

FAQs

Q: Is this 6x7m rectangular shade sail waterproof or rainproof? A: No. This sail is constructed from a porous, highly breathable 280gsm polyethylene mesh. The woven fabric allows rainwater and airflow to pass through freely, which prevents heavy water accumulation on large spans while keeping the space underneath well ventilated.

Q: Does this package include installation ropes, posts, or turnbuckles? A: No. The package includes 1 x 6m x 7m shade sail with pre-attached 8mm stainless steel corner buckles and 38mm webbed perimeter edging. Fixing hardware, turnbuckles, pad eyes, and mounting posts must be purchased separately.

Q: What does the 2-piece spliced construction mean for a 6x7m sail? A: Due to manufacturing roll width limits, shade sails wider than standard rolls require two fabric sheets to be joined together. This 6x7m sail features a reinforced center seam (2-piece splice) engineered for structural stability across the full area.

Q: Should I remove the shade sail during severe storms? A: Yes. While built for standard Australian weather conditions, it is strongly advised to detach your shade sail before high winds, tempests, or severe storms to prevent excessive load on your mounting posts and structural fixing points.
