6x6m Sand Square 185gsm Breathable Shade Sail

Lightweight, Expansive Overhead Sun Protection for Family Play & Entertaining

Create a refreshed, sun-safe outdoor sanctuary where your kids and pets can play comfortably all summer long. Engineered for broad Australian backyard footprints, this large 6x6m sand square canopy provides gentle overhead sun relief across grassed play zones, outdoor lounge suites, and open patio spaces without feeling heavy or dark.

Crafted from porous 185g/m² commercial-grade 100% polyethylene fabric, the open-mesh structure blocks up to 98% of damaging ultraviolet rays while encouraging ongoing air circulation. Trapped hot air escapes freely through the permeable weave, letting cooling breezes pass through naturally to keep under-shade temperatures significantly lower during intense heatwaves.

Designed to maintain edge stability across a 36m² span, the borders are reinforced with webbed perimeter edging. Every corner features a 5mm stainless steel buckle for secure anchor point connection to timber posts, building fascias, or mounting structures. Furthermore, the fabric is treated with an Americhem UV-resistant additive imported from the USA to preserve fabric endurance under strong sunlight.

Please note: This 6x6m shade sail features a 2-piece spliced panel construction. Assembly and mounting hardware setup are required.

FAQs

Q: Is this 185gsm 6x6m shade sail rainproof or waterproof? A: No. This sail is crafted from a porous, highly breathable 185gsm polyethylene fabric. It is specifically designed to allow rainwater and air to filter through naturally, which prevents water from pooling in the middle while maintaining cooling airflow underneath.

Q: Are installation ropes, turnbuckles, or wall brackets included? A: No. The package includes 1 x 6m x 6m sand shade sail fitted with pre-attached 5mm stainless steel corner buckles. Tensioning hardware, turnbuckles, pad eyes, and mounting posts must be purchased separately.

Q: What does the 2-piece spliced construction mean for this 6x6m sail? A: Due to standard fabric roll manufacturing widths, shade sails measuring 6 metres wide require two fabric panels to be joined together. This sail features a reinforced center seam (2-piece splice) engineered for structural integrity across the 6x6m span.

Q: Should I take down the shade sail during severe storms? A: Yes. While built to suit standard Australian outdoor climate conditions, it is strongly advised to detach your shade sail prior to high winds, severe tempests, or storm events to avoid unnecessary stress on your mounting structures and corner buckles.
