6. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will the edges of this sandstone shade cloth fray when I cut the 20m roll to size?

No. The fabric is constructed using a specialized mono-tape lock-stitch weave that locks the HDPE fibers securely in place. You can easily cut the roll into shorter sections or custom panels using sharp scissors or utility shears without the edges unspooling.

Does rainwater and irrigation pass through this 50% sandstone mesh?

Yes. The open knitted structure allows natural rainfall, overhead sprinklers, and liquid fertilizers to permeate straight through to your soil beds, ensuring your plants stay hydrated without removing the cover.

How do I secure this 100gsm shade cloth over my raised garden beds?

You can fasten the mesh securely by clamping it to PVC or metal hoops using standard shade cloth butterfly clips, tying it with heavy-duty zip ties, or anchoring it down with timber battens and screws along your raised bed frames.

Why choose a 50% density shade cloth for a vegetable garden?

A 50% density provides the ideal middle ground for edible crops, blocking intense thermal heat stress while allowing sufficient light penetration for active photosynthesis and robust fruit setting.
