6. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will the edges of this 3.66m green shade cloth fray when I cut the 20m roll to size?

No. The fabric utilizes a specialized mono-tape lock-stitch weave that locks the HDPE fibers securely in place. You can easily trim the 20m roll into shorter sections or custom panels using sharp utility shears without the cut edges unravelling or fraying.

Does natural rainfall and irrigation pass through this 30% green mesh?

Yes. The open knitted structure allows natural rainfall, overhead sprinklers, and liquid fertilizers to permeate straight through to your soil and orchard beds, keeping your plants fully hydrated without removing the cover.

How do I secure this wide 80gsm shade cloth over my fruit trees or garden frames?

You can anchor the mesh securely by attaching it to timber battens, clamping it with shade cloth butterfly clips onto PVC or metal framing hoops, or securing it with heavy-duty zip ties along your support structure.

Why choose a 30% density instead of a darker mesh for fruit trees?

Fruit trees and sun-loving crops require high levels of sunlight to flower and set fruit properly. A 30% shade block provides the perfect balance—filtering out scorching midday heatwave glare and protecting against hail while letting 70% of ambient sunlight through for robust photosynthesis.
