6. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Can I use this 90% shade cloth over my vegetable garden or greenhouse?

A: We do not recommend using 90% shade cloth for vegetable gardens or fruiting plants. Blocking 90% of available sunlight will cause most edible crops to become leggy and fail to produce fruit. For vegetable patches and greenhouses, select a 30% or 50% density shade cloth instead.

Q: Will the edges fray or unravel if I cut the 1.83m x 20m roll into smaller lengths?

A: No. Thanks to the mono-tape knitted lock-stitch weave, the fabric can be trimmed cleanly to your exact measurements using standard shears without the edges unraveling or fraying.

Q: How do I attach 90% shade cloth to my existing chain-link or timber fence?

A: The most effective method is using heavy-duty UV-stabilized zip ties, shade cloth butterfly clips, or timber battens screwed into fence posts to maintain high tension across the roll.

Q: Does rainwater collect on top of the fabric when installed overhead on a patio?

A: While 90% density is woven closely for maximum blockout, the knitted mesh structure still allows air and fine rain to permeate through under pressure, preventing water pooling on overhead installations.
