6. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Will the shade cloth unravel or fray when I cut it to size?

A: No. The mono-tape knitted lock-stitch construction holds the weave together. You can cut the fabric to your desired lengths with household scissors without the edges unravelling.

Q: Does rainwater pass through the 50% shade cloth?

A: Yes. The knitted mesh structure allows water, rainfall, and liquid fertilizers to pass directly through to your soil while diffusing heavy downpours and reducing soil erosion.

Q: How do I secure this shade cloth to a frame, fence, or greenhouse?

A: You can easily secure it using standard shade cloth butterfly clips, timber battens, zip ties, or heavy-duty staples attached directly to your timber, metal, or PVC frame.

Q: Why choose 50% density over higher percentage options for plants?

A: A 50% shade block provides the optimal balance of heat reduction and sunlight for fruit-bearing vegetables and general garden plants. Higher densities (such as 90%) block too much light for vegetable synthesis and are intended primarily for privacy screens and patio shade.
