6. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why is 30% shade cloth ideal for vegetable patches and fruit trees?

A 30% shade block filters out extreme midday solar radiation to prevent leaf scorch and fruit burn, while allowing up to 70% of natural sunlight through. This ensures sun-loving plants like tomatoes, citrus, and summer vegetables continue to receive enough photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) for active growth and fruit production.

Will the edges unravel when I cut this 1.83m roll into shorter lengths?

No. The fabric is manufactured using a specialized mono-tape lock-stitch weave that interlocks the HDPE threads. You can cut the 20-metre roll cleanly into smaller sections using sharp shears without the material fraying or unraveling along the cut line.

Does rainwater pass through this 30% green shade cloth mesh?

Yes. The open-weave mono-tape construction is fully water- and air-permeable. Rain misting, overhead sprinkler water, and air currents pass through freely, preventing water accumulation on your support frames.

How do I install this 1.83m shade cloth over my garden beds?

Drape the 1.83 m-wide cloth over your timber garden bed frames, star pickets, or PVC hoops, then secure it every 30cm to 50cm using butterfly shade cloth clips, zip ties, or timber battens screwed into the frame support points.
